A Quality Training Provider in the Heart of the Waikato
Helicopter Corporation Ltd (Helicorp) is one of the few dedicated providers of quality helicopter pilot training in the Waikato. For too long now prospective pilots have had to either move away from home or accept that they need to travel to the Bay of Plenty or Auckland to find a professional and dedicated pilot training facility.
Helicorp aims to provide trainee pilots with the best possible foundation on which to build their aviation career. Our training programmes are consistent with the high level of skills demanded of the GA (General Aviation) industry around the world. Our excellent flight school facilities and training programmes are complimented by: a Robinson R22 training helicopter, with access to a R44 for sling training and ratings; turbine helicopters; and an experienced and dedicated instructor.
As a professional training provider, our programmes adhere to the strict NZ CAA syllabus. Commercial Pilot students are encouraged to gain as many Pilot in Command hours as possible during the course and to join us during commercial operations such as Frost protection work. We encourage a culture of safety and enjoyment, which ultimately leads to learning.
Our commitment to you is first-class safety standards, a professional environment at all times, and your excellence as a graduating pilot.
So what are you waiting for...?
Why Train in Hamilton, New Zealand?
The cost of training in New Zealand is still less than most other countries. The weather patterns in the central North Island region mean you are able to fly all year round. Hamilton is centrally located with excellent infrastructure links to many of the popular NZ tourist destinations. The city also boasts a University and Institute of Technology, so it has a young, vibrant feel with numerous nightspots, excellent restaurants and great sporting facilities. Finally, our operating base is within controlled airspace at an international airport and there are some great training areas all within 10 minutes flying.
Finally, The Crew Training Centre is based in Hamilton and trains pilots for many of the UK based airlines.
